I wanted to make a beautiful but sad illustration of hopeless love.

I've been working on this painting for a very long time, going back and forth -bored and excited. I found the moon pretty hard to paint, and I'm a little angry at myself sometimes for never acomplishing the plan i orgininally had for it - to make fairies arrive out of the houses. Instead they became just dots. Anyway I'm pleased with the result.
