Scar

"When she found him, he seemed almost like dead. He had his face turned down in the frosty, blood covered moss. His body was lifeless and his skin pale and bitten from the icy cold nights.

She took him in, treated him for 3 full moons, and watched as his scars healed but his mind did not. In the day he had flashbacks, and in the night he had nightmares. But he did not remember his past. Neither his name. So he called himself Scar."
---

So I’ve been nitpicking on this for a month now, but I decided to just post it and move on. I could have done many things better, especially the scar, but oh well… Hope you like it anyway!

See my artwork, Miranja for a connection....

"The air was so cold, so sharp in her lungs… The hills so empty and dead, as if they were in their deepest sleep. Snow fell and melted gently on her soft, cold skin. Frozen grass broke under her feet, and every step she took lead her further and further away from the boarders. In her mind her dead fathers word repeated itself again and again: never cross the woods after midday. Never after midday… But today there was something unusual in the air. Something wrong. She saw it in the eyes of her falcons too. Their eyes were wild and filled with tension, and they knew what was wrong. She just had to walk on. …And just then, when she had climbed the last dying hill, she saw it. Her heart stopped.
Her breath became like ice, and she knew she could never ever go back again…"
Made in Photoshop, approximately 80 hours.

Amour a Laffut

This is a recreation of William Bouguereau's "Amour a Laffut" (Love on the look out), done as a study.
I've always loved his paintings and the way he paint light and skin. So I did this to try and learn a little about skin and light. I also wanted to do this as a practise to train my eye. Meaning no overpaints, color picking and other shortcuts. Although the sketch was made using a grid, it took me more than 2 hours!

Here's a animated wip if you'd like to take a look:

It took me quite long to finish this artwork! The magic went from being a constellation to a scorpion to a phoenix. There are things I wish I could have done better, but so far I think it's ok. As long as the clients are happy, I'm happy too.

Please look the fullversion. I hope you like it, and I'd love to hear what you think about it.

Merry Christmas!

This is based on a true story that a friend of a friend of mine said to me, long long time ago...

A young man entered the cold winter night to visit his girlfriend, when he suddenly was attacked by snowmen with evil grins. Shocked and overwhelmed by the big creepy balls of snow that was attacking him, he froze - knowing not what to do.
They packed him in snow and dressed him in christmas decorations, but what happened next nobody knows...

Rumors say that there is a Christmas card circulating in the European mail - a strange old photo showing the last moment of the young man. But you better not keep it! If you get it, hurry and send it off to someone else. You don't wanna some evil snowmen knocking on your door at christmaseve.

Thanks goes to my love Domenico, for your help and putting funny ideas in my head. I love you honey! Yep, that's him in the picture. (Poor thing had to pose for me in the cold snow for 8 hours. I knew there was something wrong when he stopped blinking his eyes. (But he is fine now). ).

At the begining Wish was meant to be a part of my new homesite layout, but it got a little out of hand. It was made using many different brushes and texures over a way too long period of time!

Many people tell me they have seen this woman before - but they can never figure out who. Who do you think it looks like?

Wish also made it into the latest Exotique book.

The Giant who Loved a Fairy

I wanted to make a beautiful but sad illustration of hopeless love.

I've been working on this painting for a very long time, going back and forth -bored and excited. I found the moon pretty hard to paint, and I'm a little angry at myself sometimes for never acomplishing the plan i orgininally had for it - to make fairies arrive out of the houses. Instead they became just dots. Anyway I'm pleased with the result.
